Sophia Suh (Violine)
Sophia Suh is a Korean violinist who was born in South Korea and moved to Kyrgyzstan at an early age. She completed her first degree at the Kyrgyz National Conservatory before continuing her studies in Germany. There, she earned both her Master’s degree and Konzertexamen at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz, where she studied with Prof. Anne Shih.
During her studies, Sophia gained extensive international performance experience, appearing in concerts and festivals across Norway, Italy, France, and numerous cities throughout Germany. These opportunities allowed her to develop as both a soloist and chamber musician while performing in a wide range of musical settings.
Since 2023, she has returned to the Kyrgyz National Conservatory as a professor, where she is dedicated to educating and inspiring the next generation of musicians. Alongside her teaching career, she performs with the Kyrgyz State Academic Symphony Orchestra and plays as a concertmaster of the Oino Chamber Orchestra. She maintains an active career as a solo violinist, regularly appearing in concerts and artistic collaborations both in Kyrgyzstan and abroad.
Sophia Suh ist eine koreanische Violinistin, die in Südkorea geboren wurde und bereits in früher Kindheit nach Kirgisistan zog. Ihr erstes Studium absolvierte sie am Kyrgyz National Conservatory, bevor sie ihre Ausbildung in Deutschland fortsetzte. Dort schloss sie ihr Masterstudium sowie das Konzertexamen an der Hochschule für Musik Mainz ab, wo sie bei Prof. Anne Shih studierte.
Während ihres Studiums sammelte Sophia umfangreiche internationale Konzerterfahrung und trat bei Konzerten und Festivals in Norwegen, Italien, Frankreich sowie in zahlreichen Städten Deutschlands auf. Diese Erfahrungen ermöglichten es ihr, sich sowohl als Solistin als auch als Kammermusikerin in einem breiten künstlerischen Spektrum weiterzuentwickeln.
Seit 2023 ist sie als Professorin an das Kyrgyz National Conservatory zurückgekehrt, wo sie sich der Ausbildung und Inspiration der nächsten Generation von Musikern widmet. Neben ihrer Lehrtätigkeit spielt sie im Kyrgyz State Academic Symphony Orchestra und ist Konzertmeisterin des Oino Chamber Orchestra. Darüber hinaus verfolgt sie eine aktive Karriere als Soloviolinistin und tritt regelmäßig in Konzerten und künstlerischen Projekten sowohl in Kirgisistan als auch im Ausland auf.
